WHAT A FEW PEOPLE SAY ABOUT OUR TRIPS!
Doris Watts, Milwaukee WI, February, 2016, African Roots of Cuban Culture trip:
The trip to Cuba FAR exceeded my expectations. It was GREAT. Thanks a lot for your knowledge, energy and exuberance.
Sally Fink, lawyer, Ann Arbor MI, February, 2016, African Roots trip:
What a wonderful trip! I want to thank you for your devotion to this wonderful country, so that we got to see it through your eyes and with the people you know so well. . . Muchas gracias.
Vladimir Klimenko, history instructor, Custom trip for the Hackley School, Tarrytown NY, March 2017:
Our high school group was delighted by its 10-day trip, which was organized by the Center for Cuban Studies. With her rich trove of experience and wide range of contacts built up over decades, Sandra Levinson was able to set up an impressive array of visits and meetings with Cubans working in a wide range of occupations: the arts, health care, agriculture, education, policymaking, photography, and small business. The itinerary exposed us to a variety of regions and communities outside of Havana and offered a healthy mix of education and recreation. . . . In addition to Sandra, we were accompanied by a highly competent bus driver[Enildo] and a remarkably well-informed, sociable Cuban guide [Jesus]. As a result of our travels and meetings, I can confidently say that our group came back with a significantly better understanding of Cuban culture, history, and society. The program gave us an opportunity to glean some insights into how Cuba is adapting to the pressures and incentives from the outside world. . . . The experience that we had with you touched us all, however individually, in meaningful ways. You put together a terrific program with wonderful people, starting with Jesus and Enildo. Thank you so much for everything.
Elena Stolzer, Monroe Township NJ: Custom Family Trip, December, 2016-Jan. 2017:
Just a note to let you know how much we all loved our trip to Cuba. Your itinerary was well thought out and enabled each of our family members to do and see what most interested them . . . in the end it was just perfect. It was informational, personal, entertaining and eye-opening on many different levels. Jesus is an exceptional guide and made all of us feel as comfortable as possible. His knowledge and sense of humor is a winning combination. I wonder if he remembers any of the Yiddish words we tried to teach him. He is a "Mensch" -- and your reputation and knowledge of people in all the right places is simply astounding! This was a tripof a lifetime and it did what I wanted to do for my family . . . . I wanted them to have memories that they can tap into from time to time for the rest of their lives. . . [Elena was born in Cuba.]
