This publication is a separata (offprint) from Anuario L/L No. 1, produced by the Instituto de Literatura y Lingüística of the Academia de Ciencias de Cuba. Published as a modest tribute to José Martí on the 120th anniversary of his birth, this first facsimile edition includes an introduction, corrections to previous editions, and notes by Nuria Gregori, head of the Linguistics Section. The publication also served as recognition in 1973 of the 20th anniversary of Martí's intellectual leadership in the assault on the Moncada Barracks, marking the beginning of Cuba's definitive liberation struggle. The cover features a portrait of Martí rendered in dark blue against a light blue background, with the title centered below. José Martí's Campaign Diary (From Cabo Haitiano to Dos Rios) documents his final months before his death on May 19, 1895, offering intimate insight into Cuba's national hero and revolutionary leader.
