SUPERCOMICOS was a compilation publication that brought together selected works from Editorial Pablo de la Torriente's comic magazines published between 1985-1987. This first volume represents the publisher's effort to preserve and showcase the best Cuban comic art from this period, when they were producing the seminal magazine CÓMICOS (launched December 1985), the youth magazine PABLO (37 issues), and the biweekly tabloid EL MUÑE (48 issues), along with nearly 100 books dedicated to graphic humor, comics, entertainment, and coloring books. The publication served as both an anthology and a celebration of Cuban comic artists' contributions during the post-Revolutionary period, aimed at consolidating isolated attempts to meet the demand for quality comic literature, especially for new generations. The cover by Tomassi features dynamic figures against bold horizontal color bands, characteristic of Cuban graphic design from this era.
