Speeches by José Llanusa Gobel (Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and Minister of Education) delivered October 25, 1967, and Osvaldo Dorticos, delivered November 2, 1967, at the preparatory seminar for the Cultural Congress of Havana.
These speeches were part of the preparatory activities for the landmark Cultural Congress of Havana held in January 1968, which brought together approximately 400 intellectuals from around the world to discuss culture, politics, and revolution. The congress was a major international gathering during the height of the Cold War and anti-imperialist movements.
