Jacqueline Brito, born in Havana, 1973. She graduated from the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) in 1996 and since then has taught there in the Painting Department.

 She is a member of UNEAC (the National Union of Writers and Artists), and has had 14 solo shows in Cuba and the U.S. She has also participated in more than 500 group shows, fairs and auctions throughout the world. She took part in the Biennial of Caribbean Painting in Santo Domingo in 1996, in the XXX Painting Festival at Cagnes Sur le Mer in France in 1999 (where she won the painting prize) and in Sotheby’s International Young Art Auction (Tel Aviv, Chicago, Vienna) in 2000. She has also been part of the Havana Biennial.

 Her art can be found in many important collections: at the Arizona State University Art Museum; the Antonio Pérez Foundation in Cuenca, Spain; the Akron Art Museum in Ohio; the San Francisco Art Institute, and the Jablonka Gallery in Cologne, Germany, among others. In 1999 she won the international UNESCO competition in Painting for Peace.

 She and her sister have worked together in their separate art worlds since grade school. Jacqueline lives with her husband in the Vedado section of Havana where she works daily on her painting, and finely crafted mixed media work, often made out of found objects.
