Elena Bourke, beloved Cuban bolero and popular song singer, was one of Cuba's most distinctive voices, known for her rich timbre, deep musicality, and nearly five decades of performance.

As for the “Bourke” spelling — this was actually the spelling she herself used and preferred during certain periods. Her birth name was Elena Burke Heres, but the “Bourke” variation appeared in Cuban publications, possibly reflecting an older or more formal rendering of the surname.
